The Biz Case for ESG and Sustainable Investment
Across Middle Tennessee, more new construction is touted as “green” and designed for the well-being of employees and tenants.
What is driving this change? Demands of investors, owners, and tenants.
Whether they have made a formal ESG commitment, are interested in sustainable features as a risk management strategy, or simply know that today’s employees and tenants are seeking green, healthy buildings – development is trending toward sustainability.
Join ULI Nashville on June 8 as we hear from guest speaker Laura Craft, Head of Global ESG Strategy at Heitman, an investor in development, who will speak to how investors are demanding more sustainable development.
This will be followed by a panel discussing a local case study – the Asurion Gulch Hub. Representatives from Asurion developer Highwoods Properties and Brasfield & Gorrie will discuss how Asurion’s interest in a sustainable, healthy building to attract talent influenced the project’s design, construction, and operations.
Featured Speakers include:
- Dan Armour, Brasfield & Gorrie
- Erin Asa, HASTINGS Architecture
- Brian Atwood, Asurion
- Laura Craft, Heitman
- Jennifer Horne, Urban Campus and Core
- Taylor Wells, Highwoods Properties

platform ($54 Billion AUM) and committed its global private equity portfolio’s
operational carbon emissions under its control to net zero by the year 2030.
