WLI Studio After Dark

Acknowledging the Unspoken:

Finding Opportunity within the Emotional Labor of Leadership

Studio After Dark: Small-group informal gatherings in a home or other personal setting. The Studio will facilitate a host-led conversation with a featured guest female industry leader on a contemporary topic, lessons-learned, experiences and/or anecdotes.

Topic: Women in positions of leadership have always managed their own emotions to be seen as effective leaders - and are often charged with managing the emotions of their employees as well. The uncertainties of the last few years and today’s post-Covid economy have amplified the emotional labor for women in leadership roles. Women often absorb this unpaid, invisible work in order to responsibly and thoughtfully navigate the needs, anxiety, grief, ideas, and aspirations of employees.

At this Studio After Dark we will discuss how this invisible work can be made visible and valued as a key component of leadership. We’ll speak with senior professionals, women newly managing employees, and other colleagues about how to acknowledge these efforts and use these skills to propel your career.
