Transit Is the Future of Development
Implementing a comprehensive multi-modal mobility system is one of the most critical issues to Nashville’s future growth and development.
A transit rail system, as a component of that, is often considered the lynchpin to a well-connected region.
Transit nodes and alignments can unleash vibrant real estate development opportunities; including opportunities to incorporate housing affordability and building for a healthier Nashville.
ULI Nashville will host a panel of national experts to discuss new real estate development opportunities that open up from implementing a transit system, including:
• Transit-Oriented Development tools,
• TOD techniques,
• TOD projects
Keynote speaker, Marliee Utter, President of Citiventure Associates LLC (Denver), is an expert in development, real estate, finance and transit. The insights and experience she will share will be of great value to understanding how to implement TOD here in Nashville.
Marilee understands how transportation and mixed-use development come together to make communities work. Her work spans multi-disciplines and roles in:
• Private Developer with Trillium Corporation
• Director of Asset Mgt for the City and County of Denver
• VP of Wells Fargo Bank, and;
• TOD Specialist for the Regional Transportation District.
Marilee will be joined by other TOD developers from Minneapolis and Charlotte.
Local policy and real estate leaders will then participate in a moderator-led discussion on how these national examples relate to Nashville’s real estate future in Transit-Oriented Development.
