Content before Cocktails: Nashville’s ‘New Old’ Neighborhoods and Urban Manufacturing featuring the Sidco Drive ‘Design District’ and its impact on Real Estate
ULI NASHVILLE hosts the first FY18 installment of its Content Before Cocktail series with…
Nashville’s ‘New Old’ Neighborhoods and Urban Manufacturing featuring the Sidco Drive ‘Design District’ and its impact on Real Estate
‘Conversion’, ‘redevelopment’,‘re-use’ or ‘renaissance’…call it what you may: The Sidco Drive ‘neighborhood’ isn’t what it used to be!
Whether it’s a Design District, a Tech District or an urban neighborhood re-emerging with a mix of new uses adapted from former industrial and warehouse buildings, the Sidco Drive area is worth studying to learn lessons and opportunities for other Nashville neighborhoods.
The impact of this evolution on real estate values, design and land use is important. It opens up previously underutilized urban areas for business and commerce.
However, are there land uses being left out of this transition? Where is the housing? Where is the manufacturing? Both of which are a priority of the Mayor’s office and are a key use in vital mixed-use areas around the world.
Audra Ladd, Mayor Barry’s Manager of Small Business and Creative Economy will talk about the importance and opportunities of urban manufacturing in redeveloping neighborhoods like this Sidco Drive district.
Additionally, other speakers will present on:
• Impressive real estate values and trends in the Sidco Drive area;
• Design and development aspects of project(s) that has been retrofitted, and
• Other related issues and projects.
Register to come hear about redevelopment in the Sidco Drive renaissance, its real estate and design implications and the opportunities for urban manufacturing to be part of the transition …then stay for some ‘cocktails’ and conversation with fellow ULI-members!
