Middle Tennessee Regional Transportation Planning Updates

CRT, along with the Transit Alliance of Middle Tennessee (TAMT) is working with the Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) to solicit feedback about transit connections and choices in the Middle Tennessee region in support of RTA’s nMotion planning process. The New Metro Energy Code Will Reshape the Architecture of Commercial Buildings

As of August 15, 2015, Metro Nashville Davidson County has an updated building code, the 2012 ICC family of codes (with a limited number of local amendments). The Energy Code for commercial buildings is the 2012 International Energy Conservation Code, and the changes from the past 2006-based code are estimated at 30% more stringent. The AIA Committee on the Environment is holding two courses to help designers, developers and builders understand the changes. The course on October 9 will cover single-family residential, while the one on October 16 will cover the commercial building code. Read More

ULI Announces Finalists in the 2015 Jack Kemp Excellence in Affordable and Workforce Housing Award Competition

Urban Land Institute (ULI) Terwilliger Center for Housing announced the finalists of this year’s Jack Kemp Excellence in Affordable and Workforce Housing Award competition, a program that honors developments that ensure housing affordability for people with a range of incomes.
